We're a nursery school, first and foremost

It's the heart of Semisto: the place from which everything else radiates. We grow plants suited to tomorrow's climate, and the nursery growers able to propagate them. A living, anti-fragile asset.

the problem

A more resilient agriculture

In Belgium, nurseries oriented toward agroecological, food-growing systems are disappearing or struggling to survive. Most cultivated plants come from large chains, disconnected from local realities.

We grow ideas too

🌳 Responsible nursery growers

Able to actively contribute to the resilience of our ecosystems.

Where citizens, professionals and researchers connect and innovate together.

🌱 Meaning, rediscovered

In our agricultural and landscaping practices, inspired by natural systems.

planting for 2045

Assisted migration

We propagate two families of plants in parallel: old local varieties we don't want to lose, and species that aren't really established here yet but will be, in the climate that today's plantings will grow into — fig, medlar, jujube, hackberry, persimmon, strawberry tree…

A tree planted in 2026 produces in the climate of 2040-2050. We choose it for that climate.
